This summer, the internet is obsessing over a delightfully simple yet irresistibly indulgent treat - the strawberries and cream sandwich.

With roots in Japanese fruit sando culture, this viral sensation takes soft, fluffy milk bread (or brioche), layers it with soft whipped cream, and nestles in fresh, juicy strawberries for a picture-perfect cross-section that’s just as satisfying to eat as it is to share online.
This kind of fruit sandwich, known in Japan as “furutsu sando” is super popular on menus across Japan, where fruit shops open dessert parlours for customers to try their delicious fruit. Easy to make, beautiful to look at, the strawberries and cream sandwich is summer’s answer to comfort food with a twist.
Well, we had to try it ourselves didn’t we, but of course we made it with extra Bling!
We took a couple of slices of sweet brioche bread, chopped off the crusts and smothered each slice with a mix of soft cheese, Bling pink strawberry flavoured sugar and pink strawberry pop n crunch for a little extra theatre!
The result was a deliciously sweet and creamy sandwich that actually popped and crackled in your mouth thanks to the popping candy! It get's a 10 out of 10 from us!
